Thomas and Friends Explore the Rails is at Liberty Science Center! The Island of Sodor has made its way to New Jersey and ready to give any ultimate Thomas the Tank Engine fan, young or old, the greatest experience! To give you a little refresher Thomas the Tank Engine is a fictional steam locomotive in The Railway Series books by the Reverend Wilbert Awdry and his son, Christopher. The highly popular television series of Thomas and Friends soon followed. It has maintained its popularity through many generations. We had the chance to check out this amazing exhibit and meet Sir Topham Hatt himself!
My kids are a little too old for Thomas the blue engine but had a great time reminiscing and exploring this exhibit.
It’s designed for children ages 2-8. The younger ones can practice counting objects learning colors, and comparing sizes. The older kids can practice their math skills and learn basic engineering concepts! Little Engineers can visit Thomas and his friends at Knapford Station, Sodor Steamworks, and Brendam Docks.
Thomas Model: climb on board and explore the blue engine himself! Your little one can operate the controls and explore the inner workings of the engine.
The ultimate Train Table: it’s a little train lover’s dream. A play-area like no other where your little engineer can come up with different track options for the trains! The picture below does not do it justice! It is big.
Get Percy Going: observe, analyze and reflect on how Percy’s engine makes and uses steam energy.
There is plenty more to enjoy the Thomas the Train Explore the Rails exhibit like the Loading Zone or the Tick Tock ,Fix the Clock. I urge you to take your little ones because it will be an unforgettable experience. The only complaint I have is that I wish this exhibit would’ve been around for my kiddos when they were a lot younger!:)
Thomas and Friends: Explore The Rails is open now until May 13 and included with general admission tickets. ($21.75 for adults, $18.75 for seniors 62+, and $17.75 for children ages 2-12). Museum members and children under 2 are free. Liberty Science Center is open daily except Mondays in the fall and winter except on holidays. Check LSC.org for hours and details.
You know what the best part is?! I get to give away 4 tickets to see Thomas and Friends thanks to Liberty Science Center!!
