I had the pleasure of attending a Mamarazzi Event for Brooke Shield’s latest Hallmark Movie, Dearly Depotted. I hadn’t heard of these movies but I made sure to do my homework the night before and watched the first one. I love a good mystery. Brooke Shields plays the smart, funny and determined Abby Knight, ex-lawyer and crime buff, and the owner of Bloomers Flower Shop. Abby is a reluctant bridesmaid at her drama queen cousin’s wedding. She ends up not just doing the flowers…but having to find out who murdered a wedding crasher.
The event was also made possible by Kidbox, a personally styled box for your boy or girl 4-14 (sizes 4-16), with top brands at great prices, including free shipping and free returns. The best part is for every box sold an outfit is donated to a child in need. Shopping for your kiddos from the comfort of home, and knowing you will be doing some good in this world because of it–you can’t beat that!
After we checked out Kidbox we all had the opportunity to see the movie before it aired on TV and I really enjoyed it. It was surprisingly funny, something not usual in your typical murder/mystery movies. I love that because I know that means I get to enjoy it with my whole family. You know what was even better? The positive empowering message it sends that it’s important to persevere and to never give up even when all the odds are stacked up against you, believe in yourself!
After the movie, we were able to take part in a Q&A with Brooke Shields and Denise Albert, of The Moms. Brooke was so funny and down to earth. She talked about parenting, motherhood and having open and real conversations with your children. An equal balance of mom and friend! One of my favorite parts was when she mentioned she likes to listen to Mumford and Sons (the music lover in me, couldn’t help, but get giddy over that one!)
If you missed the premiere of Dearly Depotted I highly recommend you check it out, this Thursday June 30th at 5 p.m. eastern/4p.m. central on the Hallmark: Movies&Mysteries Channel!
Thank you again to The Moms for the invite, I look forward tot he next one!
