This weekend was like an incredible roller coaster ride for me. Saturday, I went to Brooklyn with my sister to Joy the Baker’s book signing. My parents watched the kids till Julio got home from work. He was going to take them out to ChuckeCheese.
I always travel to the city but this was the first time I was going to take public transportation all the way to the Williamsburg/Greenpoint area of Brooklyn . Of course, we got lost….wasted $$ in subway fees running around to different trains and subway stations, and walked what seemed like an eternity till we finally got to the place. The Brooklyn Kitchen was lovely and hopefully I’ll get to visit again soon. When we got there (2 hours late ) the wait was going to be an additional 2 hours.ugh. I was so tired already…but I couldn’t help feeling bad for Joy. She was amazing and beyond what I expected…super nice and sweet. She was there signing books, taking pictures, and talking to EVERY SINGLE PERSON….NO JOKE! It was such a treat to meet her, even though I have to admit I was a little nervous about it. She was kind enough to take pics with me and my sister (I know she must’ve been a little taken back with my sis…she’s somewhat special..haha!). I’m not going to scare you off by showing you the pics Joy looked great but I was a wreck…seriously.
We said goodbye and left, got lost some more …..we were crabby….and we just wanted to go home ended up back home around 11:00 when I was actually supposed to be back by 6.
Sunday, we traveled to long island to visit family. The kiddos love going to visit their cousins and we always have a blast when we get together. I helped my aunt make our “catracho”(Honduran) version of tacos. Its one of our favorite foods to have when we get together.
